Bachata Zouk Infinity Festival is the first event in Canada offering major Showcase and "Bring Your Own Partner" Spotlight competitions for Bachata Moderna & Sensual and Brazilian Zouk.
Our judges are World Champion level dancers in their respective styles and renowned for their history of incredible performances and achievements. See our Judges' Bio section.

BYOP "Bring Your Own Partner
For this style of competition:
-
Register as pre-determined partners (1 leader, 1 follower)
-
Each registered couple (no gender restrictions) gets a Number Bib which the leader must pin on their back.
-
Dance in a Heat or Spotlight round for 45 seconds to 1 minute to a random DJ selected song
-
A Heat is a round where multiple couples dance together at the same time on the dance floor​.
-
A Spotlight is a round where only one couple dances at a time in front of the judging panel and public.

Progress to semi-finals or finals and get the highest score to win.
-
Finalists get a copy of their scores on Technique, Musicality, Presentation, Rhythm, Difficulty, and Safety.

This Division is for Amateurs, defined as dancers who are not paid teachers and who have been dancing for less than 1 year in the chosen style.
Am-Am
Intermediate
Brazilian Zouk / Bachata
This Division is for Amateurs, defined as dancers who are not paid teachers and who have been dancing for less than 4 years in the chosen style.
Am-Am
Advanced
Brazilian Zouk / Bachata
This Division is for Amateurs, defined as dancers who are not paid teachers and who have been dancing for less than 10 years in the chosen style.
Pro-Am
Novice
Brazilian Zouk / Bachata
This Division is for Amateurs, defined as dancers who are not paid teachers and who have been dancing for less than 1 years in the chosen style.
Pro-Am
Intermediate
Brazilian Zouk / Bachata
This Division is for Amateurs, defined as dancers who are not paid teachers and who have been dancing for less than 4 years in the chosen style.

Advanced

This Division is for Amateurs, defined as dancers who are not paid teachers and who have been dancing for 4 years or more in the chosen style.
Pro Pro
Brazilian Zouk / Bachata
This Division is designed for dance professionals who currently get paid regularly to teach or perform the chosen style. Experienced Amateurs (5+ years) are allowed to compete in this division.
There is no Heats round in this division and the competitors will dance a Spotlight every round.

Winners of this division will get an opportunity to teach a workshop at the next Bachata Zouk Infinity Festival and compete for the Canada Latin Sensual Cup.
JUDGES' BIOS
William & Paloma
William and Paloma are Brazilian Zouk champions who were trained by masters at the Alex de Carvalho in Rio and by Renata Pecanha, the creator of Zouk.
Luis & Andrea
Based in Spain, this internationally famous, champion level duo is currently one of the most in-demand Bachata Sensual couples in the World.
​
Luka & Jenalyn
TV Sensations at World of Dance and Cabaret champions. This couple is based in Toronto, Canada. They are also well versed in Salsa, Bachata, and Ballroom.
William & Irene
Based in Spain, Irene & William are partners in life and dance, combining Irene's lifelong experience in Ballroom and Bachata with William's incredible skills at both Bachata Sensual and Zouk.
